一番すきなイベント

毎年の夏に　カリフォルニアに　大きくて、とてもおもしろいイベントが　あって、イベントのおなえまは　えい語で　Electronic　Entertainment　Expoです。　今年は　六月に　十四日から　十六日まで、E3が　あって、　あそこに　ゆうめいなゲームのかいしゃは　新しくて、すごいゲームを　はじめて　見せります。　とてもたのしと　思いますよ！一番好きなゲームのかいしゃは　にんてんどだから、今年　私は　E3で　にんてんどが作ったゲームを見たいだよ！E3で　マイクロソフトと　そにーも　おもしろいゲームを見せります。E3は　カリフォルニアに　あるけど、コンピューターで　家でE3のイベントを見ます。E3のイベントがある週に　私は　一日に　五時間　見ます。今年の十一月に　E3で見せたゲームを　買いたいだよ！

Reflection on my goals and activities

My goals for the first half of the semester were to:

-This semester I want to improve my intonation of words and also improve my ability in putting sentences together more fluidly.

-Also, I want to improve my listening ability, especially with spoken Japanese that doesn’t have a script, so I can better understand Japanese when it is spoken at its natural speed

Revised Activities

So far, I think I have improved with producing R sounds, mainly through listening to my playlist of Japanese songs and shadowing them occasionally for a chorus or verse here and there.

I didn’t really shadow the vocab list for each chapter as much as I had planned to, so I’m going to focus on making sure I do that more in the coming weeks.

I haven’t improved as much as I would like with my listening ability, so I will focus on that more by listening to and of course, watching anime. I will probably watch Bungou Stray Dogs which my sister recommended to me.

Shadowing the Kizuna poem and Kizuna song helped me with focusing on my pronunciation, so I plan to probably pick another song for my second shadowing PE.

私の弟

私の家族は　六人家族です。そして　父と　母と　弟２人と　妹１人が　います。 たいてい　私の家族は　アメリカに　すんでいますけど、　私の上から二番目の弟は　さいきん　ひこうきで　アフリカに　行きました。

私の弟は、平和部隊「へいわぶたい」のボランティアだから、今　タンザニアの北に　すんでいます。あそこで　高校で　せいぶつがくをおしえります。タンザニアの学生は　えい語が　ちょっと分かるので、ときどき　私の弟は　せいぶつがくを　おしえるのが　ちょっとむずかしいと　おもっています。せいぶつがくを　もっといい おしえたがっていますから、私の弟は　よく　スワヒリ語を　べんきょして、スワヒリ語で タンザニアの学生と 話します。　私の弟のタンザニアの学生は　スワヒリ語が　とても分かるからですね。

せいぶつがくのじゅぎょうを　おわって、弟は、家に　ゆっくりしに　帰ります。弟の家のちかくに　キリマンジャロ山が　あるので、弟は　その山をよく見ると　おもいます。やまのちかくのところに　すんでいるのが　かっこいいですよ。

PE goals for the new semester

With the new semester, comes more goals to help me improve my Japanese speaking ability.

Goals:

-This semester I want to improve my intonation of words and also improve my ability in putting sentences together more fluidly.

-Also, I want to improve my listening ability, especially with spoken Japanese that doesn’t have a script, so I can better understand Japanese when it is spoken at its natural speed

Activities:

-To improve my intonation, I plan to listen to the vocab list so I can practice shadowing the words as I learn the new vocab for each chapter.

-I also plan to keep watching anime so I can continue to hear Japanese being spoken at the natural speed. I also plan to try to shadow as I watch to get more practice with my intonation and pronunciation of words. Sadly, season two of Noragami  is over, so I’ll have to find a new show.

-Listening to Japanese songs helped my recognition of vocab and grammar patterns last semester, so I will be continuing with listening to my playlist this semester.

私の好きなたべもの

私のかぞくは　ガーナからきましたから、　私の好きなたべもののいちぶは　ガーナりょうりです。たとえば、このえは kokoとまめのシチューとさかなが あります。　kokoは　あまいけど、ちょっとからいですよ。ちょっとあぶらが　おおいですけど、kokoをたべるのが　たのしいですよ。 おいしので、うちで　よく　kokoをたくさん　たべますね。　いま、　kokoをたべに　うちに　かえりたいですよ。

Final Reflections

On the whole, I think my activities went well:

Listening to a playlist of Japanese songs has helped me see the speed at which Japanese naturally flows. Also, I have been trying more and more to shadow some of the songs and sing along especially some of  the choruses.  My favorite song so far has been Sekai No Owari’s RPG.

This semester for anime, I have been mainly  watching Noragami, which has been great for seeing how native speakers structure their sentences. Also, it had introduced me to new vocab and reinforced how to properly pronounce the vocab I already know.

I wasn’t able to go the Japanese table as much as I had planned (every other week) but for the times I did go, I had a couple good short conversations. I hope to go more, next semester.

My goals were to be able to differentiate between words and to have better pronunciation and intonation.

For the first goal, particles helped me recognize where different words ended and also the word’s significance within a sentence. It can be hard sometimes keep track of all words when spoken at the natural speed but I think I did improve over the semester.

For my pronunciation goal, I think PE exercises highlighted where I needed to improve (R sounds especially) so though I didn’t improve as much with this goal, at least I know what I need to work on.

It has been a good semester and I hope to learn more and improve my Japanese.

わたしのしゅみは　何ですか。

そうですね。　えをかくのと　アニメをみるのと　にんてんどのゲームをすろのと　 サッカーをするのと　まんがをよむのと　へやで　ゆっくりするのが　好きです。　しゅみの中で、　コンピューターで　えをかくのが　一番大好きなので、　えをかくのを　一番よくします。ふゆ休みは　このえをおわりました。　まんがの中で　ブリーチが　一番好きなので、ひつがやさんのえをかきました。「ひつがやさんは　ブリーチのゆうめいな人です」　ふゆ休みも　ノラガミのアニメをたくさん　みました。　いつか、わたしは　ノラガミの人のえを　かきたいです。　でも　らい週　テストが　あります。
